How do I access my mail on the Web?

Go to http://mail.softwhite.net:32000/mail. Once there, login using your user name (the part of your email address before the @ symbol) and your password.  You can read your mail here as well as send mail.  

I forgot my password. How do I recover it?

Go to http://mail.softwhite.net:32000/mail. Once there, enter your user name (the part of your email address before the @ symbol) and click "Forget your password?"
Now enter your full email address:

Now retype the displayed sequence of letters and numbers:

Click "Send Password". Your password will then be emailed to you. If you cannot receive your email, call Softwhite and we will reset it for you.

How do I change my email password or other mail account settings?

Log into web mail and click Settings

What are the settings I need to get my mail in Outlook or Outlook Express?

Account Name: The part of your email address before the @ symbol.  For example, "rickwhite" is the account name for rickwhite@softwhite.com.
Password: Your email account password.
Pop3 Server
: The pop3 server is mail.softwhite.net. 
SMTP server: It is best to use the SMTP server supplied to you by your ISP.  If this is not available to you or your ISP does not allow you to use their SMTP server, you may use ours: mail.softwhite.net.

Some of the mail I send out is bouncing. How do I remedy this?

It may be that our server does not recognize your request as valid. Our server will not relay massages from unknown parties. To be sure our server recognizes you as a vaild entity for sending email, we recommend that when specifying the Softwhite SMTP server you configure it to require authentication. You can indicate that your pop3 credentials can be used or you can supply credentials explicitly (same as pop3).

How do I exclude an email address from getting caught in the spam folder in the future?

Log into web mail and click on the Spam folder. Select the email from the recepient you want to white-list
and then click the green arrow icon as shown:



Messages sent from this sender in the future will not be marked as spam.

Outlook keeps prompting me for my password and I still can't get my mail. How do I fix this?

Outlook may have lost your password and it needs to be re-entered. In Outlook, go to Tools | Email Accounts and View Existing Accounts. Choose the Softwhite email account and then click Change. Re-enter your password (remember that passwords are case-sensitive) and save and close the account dialog window. Close and re-open Outlook.

I am a domain administrator. How do I access the admin control panel?

Go to http://mail.softwhite.net:32000/admin/ and login as usual. This puts you in the admin tool for your domain.

Go to http://mail.softwhite.net:32000/admin/ and login as usual. This puts you in the admin tool for your domain.
Follow these instructions:

Click the new user icon upper left:


Fill in the indicated fields and click ok. For more information on each field, click the  icon in the upper left corner.
